MIFA will receive a $5 million grant from the Jeff Bezos Day 1 Families Fund, Sally Jones Heinz president & CEO has announced.

The Day 1 Families Fund provides grants to nonprofits doing compassionate, needle-moving work to provide shelter and hunger support to address the needs of young families.

This one-time grant will allow MIFA to continue providing quality services to Shelby County homeless families over a five-year period. It will be used to enhance services for homeless and at-risk families, grow our staff capacity to provide additional services, decrease the time families spend in homelessness, fill gaps in existing programs by connecting families to critical services, and help clients achieve and maintain lasting housing stability.
