Vic Crutchfield, a volunteer at Saint Francis Hospital- Bartlett, runs the “goody cart” three days a week, selling candy and drinks to the staff and guests.

On another day of the week, Crutchfield, 64, volunteers in the information systems department at the hospital.

Crutchfield was named The Best Times volunteer of the month for January.

Sharon Fryman, manager of volunteer services for the hospital, said, “Vic is so passionate for his service.”

“I enjoy interacting with people,” Crutchfield said in a release from the hospital. “I guess I’m just a people person, and running the goody cart allows me to get to know many of the employees at Saint Francis Hospital - Bartlett.”

Fryman said the staff looks forward to visits by Crutchfield, who brings smiles and laughter with him.

In addition, the profits from the sales are used for projects such as equipment and scholarships for employees or their dependents.

He fills special requests, sets sales goals for himself and “even works on his days off sometimes,” Fryman said.

The hospital named Crutchfield volunteer of the year for 2019.
